The Importance of Family

So_Angie X FamilyGiftCo

Hi Readers,

Welcome back to my blog for another post. Today I want to talk about the importance of family. As you know during a time like now, family is more important than anything in the world. One thing that the Corona Pandemic has taught is me is that life is short and we only get one chance to live it. I’ve lived by this quote forever but with uncertain times like today it has been at the forefront of many of my conversations.

Family is the most important and valuable gift that god has given us. It is the first lesson in relationships with others. Family is really an important word. It means to feel secure, to have someone who you can count on, whom you can share your problems with. But it also means to have respect for each other and responsibility.

What family means to me is love and someone that will always be there for you through the good times and the bad. It is about encouragement, understanding, hope, comfort, advice, values, morals, ideals, and faith. These things are all important to me because it makes me feel secure and happy inside regardless of what is going on in my life. This is one of the main reasons why the family is important in our life. Here in this article it is important to emphasize on the importance of family in our everyday life.

Recently Family Gift Co sent me a portrait that showcased my family’s names on it and I completely fell in love! They can customize your family portrait to feature your family on it also.

Quarantine Confessions
What's in my Cup!
Review on Sour Tea Thida Herbal Tea

Hi Readers,

Welcome back to my blog! Today I just wanted to spill the TEA on what’s in my cup (Literally)! So from the title, you can already guess what I’ll be talking about today. What’s in my Cup! Lately I’ve been trying to stick to a routine of doing things that relax me and less of things that stress me out. One of these routines is after a long day of work I made me a cup of Tea and just unwind. Tea has so many benefits to them but this new Sour Tea from Thida Herbal is unmatched.
Here’s Why……
Packed with Antioxidants
Antioxidants are molecules that help fight compounds called free radicals, which cause damage to your cells. Sour Tea is rich in powerful antioxidants and may therefore help prevent damage and disease caused by the buildup of free radicals.
May Help Lower Blood Sugar
Over time, high blood pressure can place extra strain on the heart and cause it to weaken. High blood pressure is also associated with an increased risk of heart disease. Several studies have found that sour tea may lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Promote Weight Loss
Several studies suggest that sour tea may be associated with weight loss and protect against obesity.

Now that you read some of the Benefits are you ready to try it out yourself?

Angie X ElloMasks

Collaboration Review

Hello Readers,

Welcome back to another blog post! Today’s blog post is about my Collaboration with Ello Masks. I’m so excited to share with you guys my review on this awesome company and their product. I’ve teamed up with Ello Mask to show my support communities and local charity’s around the world. Right now, Ello Masks is donating a mask to a local charity in need for every purchase made!

Click the Link Below

               https://www.ellomasks.com/angie10

A little bit about the Mask

These Masks are from a locally sourced premium cotton blend. The cotton allows great filtration, while maintaining a soft feel. They have also added a little bit of spandex to the blend, so it stretches out nicely around the ears.

How to Wash Ello Mask

The premium cotton blend fabric is designed to be washed in hot water and will retain its shape through multiple cycles.

Ello Mask & N95

Ello Mask can be worn underneath the N95 for comfort and protective measures. The Ello Mask alone does not meet the N95 standards by itself.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Check out how me and Mason wore out Mask on our walk.

Stay safe everyone!

Working from Home

How to Be Productive in the Comfort of your Home

Hi Readers,

Welcome back to another blog post. As we all know the world is facing a Pandemic from the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. During this time, it’s very important to stay home and stay away from big groups of 10 or more. If you must go to work always be sure to follow the guidelines of the health officials.  My heart goes out to everyone that is required to still go to work. I’m so appreciative of all the Doctors, Nurses, Store Clerks, Warehouse workers, Postal Workers, and many more. This is a challenging time and it’s important to show compassion and appreciation to everyone on the front line. They are the true heroes of this world.

For many of you like myself, my job has closed and restricted us to work from home until further notice. I typically work from home two days out the week but after the COVID-19 outbreak we’re working full time from home. If this is your first time having to work remote you may face some challenges that you wouldn’t typically have if you were in the office. One of the biggest challenges is staying productive. It’s important to realize that regardless of where you’re working that you stay productive and make sure you’re getting your work done.

I’ve put together a list on how I stay productive and how I plan out my day from the house.

Get Dressed….
This is probably one of my favorite things to do when I’m working from home. Each morning I have a routine I follow to get myself up and ready to start my day. I find having a routine helps me stay productive. I’ll wash up, fix my hair and even throw on minimal makeup just to feel good. When it comes to my wardrobe, I typically switch it up depending on how I’m feeling. I always make it a mission to take off what I wore that night and change into my “Good PJs” or I’ll throw on comfortable jogger set. By no means do I think you should dress up all the time. I just believe that whatever you wear make sure you put effort into it.

Set a Schedule…..

One of the greatest things about being a remote worker is that you can set a schedule that works for you. If you’re a morning person, you can start your day early. If you’re more of a night owl, you can begin working later. Just remember, once you set a schedule, you need to stick with it in order to get your work done. Create a schedule that will allow you to get the most done with as few interruptions as possible. Don’t forget to include appointments, meetings, and allow some time for unexpected situations to arise. That way, you won’t become frazzled when the unexpected happens.

Create a Designated Workspace….

When you set up a space that is specifically for your work and nothing else, it is a lot easier to get work done because you won’t have a lot of distractions around you. Find a room in your home that is not used for other purposes and turn that into your office. Of course, you always have the freedom to switch it up occasionally and create a new and different workspace to keep you focused.

Following some of these steps can make your workday productive and much more easier during this time we are all stuck in the house. Please be safe and stay inside as much as you can. This Worldwide outbreak will end and we'll be stronger than ever.

As always, thank you for reading!

How To Manage Motherhood….
& A Healthy Work-Life Balance

Hi Readers,

Welcome back to another blog post. I have to say it’s been such a long time since my last blog entry, and I couldn’t go another day without posting. I’m still very active and consistent on my Instagram platform, but I must say having my blog gives me the space to share my thoughts, tips, and experiences with you all. I’ve had so much life changing experiences happen so far this year that sometimes it feels like I can’t keep up. However, I’m so thankful for it all because I don’t know where I’d be today without having experienced it all firsthand. So, in today’s blog post I want to share with you all how I’ve managed motherhood, my career, and life. I get asked this question a lot, so I want to share with you how I balance it all.

Motherhood is one of the most fulfilling journeys life has to offer, but it can be exhausting as well. Keeping a tiny human alive and well is not as easy as it looks. I mean you are raising a human. Add working into the mix, and you may find yourself feeling stretched very thin. As a mom who works full-time outside of home, I can definitely say that’s how I’ve felt at times. When there are so many things pulling you for time and attention throughout the day, it’s easy to feel as though you’re not excelling in any of your roles, at home or in the workplace.

While the “Perfect” work-life balance may feel unattainable, here are some strategies I use on a daily to maintain my sanity and my purposes as a full-time working mom.

Create A Routine and STICK to it…
I know this sounds easy to do but sticking to a routine is the hardest part. Rather than thinking of all the things you need to accomplish, focus on your action items with the highest urgency, and make that a priority. Make a list of 3-5 tasks you want to get done that day and cross them off as you go. This act provides satisfaction since you are making progress and reaffirms the fact that you’re capable of accomplishing multiple tasks, both at work and at home.

Let go of the Guilt…
Rather than dwell on how you’re not with your child, think about how your role in the company is benefitting the family. Perhaps you can afford certain classes or educational opportunities for your children or you’re able to put away saving for college. The most successful career moms have found ways to be efficient in both worlds. That requires being able to come to terms with choices and focus on the priorities that are in the most important.

Work Efficiently…
As tempting as it may be to easily get distracted with looking at your phone, do your best to resist. I set a screen timer on my phone each day to help remind me of how much time I’ve spent on my phone and when I need to put it down. Decompress during your coffee and snack breaks but try to avid personal distractions when not on break. By giving your job your full attention while there, you’re freeing up time that can be spent with your family in the evening.

Be Present…
When you work full-time, you only get to spend a few hours with your little ones each day. Since I’m a Corporate Buyer, my work hours are Monday through Friday with 7 to 3 with two work from home days. My son goes with me to work each morning because my job provides us with a daycare on site so I can make my way over to see him on lunch breaks when I can. However, I still feel like it’s not enough time. Depending on when your child wakes up (Mason is up 6am) I have an hour or two with him in the mornings before taking him to daycare and roughly an hour and 3 hours with him after work before she goes to bed. Some days, I feel like I hardly see her. It doesn’t feel like a good work-life balance when I’m at work for eight hours each day.

Because of this, when my baby is awake, I am in full mom-mode; my laptop stays closed, blogging shut down, and my phone on Do Not Disturb. I make the most of the time we do have each day by giving him my undivided attention during our precious hours together.

Outsource Errands…
Before I had my baby, errands didn’t seem like such a hassle. Nowadays, it often feels impossible to squeeze those tasks into an already demanding schedule. Take advantage of the services available to you. Many companies, like Instacart, offer unlimited plans that make these services more affordable. Asking businesses if they offer frequent-visitor discounts never hurts either! Doing most of my shopping online has made a huge difference. Amazon, Target, and even Costco offer one to two-day shipping when you meet minimum spending thresholds. Using these retailers to stock up on the everyday essentials frees up additional time you can spend with your kids.

Surviving NYFW in 3 Days
How To Attend NYFW

Hi Readers,

Welcome back to another post! Today we are talking about how to survive NYFW and how you can attend shows. This was my first year attending NYFW and I can’t believe I waited this long to attend.  This year I was determined to go and I made it my mission to attend as many shows as I could. Now before I get into how to attend the shows I want to be honest and say I did wait until the last minute to do my research. So I highly recommend if you do decide to attend NYFW to start at least 3 months before. If I had started a lot earlier I would have probably been invited to a lot more shows.

Pitching yourself to designers and brands

If you aren’t a celebrity or someone famous your chances of getting front row seats to a big fashion is very low. The truth of the matter is that a lot of the big name events are invite only. However there is a way around this if you have the right pitch! If you are a fashion blogger or just all around fashion lover you want to create an email pitching yourself to shows you would like to attend. You want to make sure you talk about who you are, what you do in the fashion world, and why you feel you should attend. If you’re a blogger like me you should have a media kit already showcasing you social media platforms and stats, so you want to make sure you’re including that in your email. Remember to make it short, sweet, and to the point.

How to get in contact with designers and brands

So before you send your emails out you have to know who you are sending it to right. You have to do your research now. So let’s say you want to attend the Kate Spade showcase, the first thing you need to do is find there media or pr email address. I simply type into Google just that and it pops up. Once I pull all the designers and brands I would like to attend shows for I send out an email to each one. Don’t be discouraged if you get No’s or no response. A lot of people are sending them emails so sometimes it’s not about you they just don’t have any more slots open.

Stay At Hotels For Free

The same way you pitch to designers and brands is the same way you pitch to hotels. If you’re a blogger like me you will most likely be blogging your entire stay which includes the hotel you will be in. Hotels love when you tag them and post during your stay because it brings them business. So when I pitch to them I highlight that during my stay I would be blogging and posting while I am in your hotel. So be sure to include what you can do for the hotel while you are visiting.

     Sign Up for NYFW

Signing up on the official website will help keep you update to date on all the fashion shows and where they will be hosted. It’s a great way to get an idea of where to start.

  Pop Up Shops

A lot of stores and big brands come to New York during fashiobn week to showcase there new collections in local stores and they always invite people to come and shop for discounted prices or for free if you post the event on social media. Simply type in stores or brands you know or search pop up shops to see who previously did one the year before so you know who to contact to attend the next year,

How I Put My Sleepy Baby To Sleep
Featuring Ergo Pouch

Hi Readers,

Welcome back to another blog post! From the tittle I’ll be talking about how I put my sleepy baby to sleep. Let’s face it we all struggle with getting a sleep baby to stay asleep through the night. I know I have had a challenge sticking to a routine that helped lay my baby to bed. I found my number one issue was the routine and sticking to it. So I’m going to get into how sticking to a routine helped me finally get my baby boy to sleep through the entire night!

Ergo Pouch – The Perfect Swaddle + Sleep Bag
This 2 in 1 transitional system is so perfect for Mason when he sleeps because it’s breathable, hip friendly, and even has a room thermometer included to adjust. The sleep bag has a bell shape at the end of it to help with leg room and space to wiggle around without feeling too constricted. When my baby wears this he sleeps very good through the night.

Warm Bath
I started off giving my baby a bath at least twice a week and now I have transitioned to doing it every night because a warm bath not only makes your baby very sleepy but it relaxes them. I find giving them a bath right before bed time really helps him get in the mindset that it’s time to lay down.

Warm Bottle
Right after bath time is when I give my baby his last feeding so I’ll have the bottle warmed up and take him in his room with lights completely out. This sets the mood for your baby and his tummy is full and warm. If you are breast feeding you don’t have to worry because your breast milk is usually at the temperature it needs to be to comfort your baby.

White Noise
Listen!!! This is probably the best invention made for man. The white noise music relaxes your baby and will put him right to sleep. I just tried this by searching it on Youtube. I played a song while I fed him and I’m telling you in minutes he was knocked out! Trust me play this every night and your baby will sleep through the night.
